Development of aviation fuel,
hydraulic and electrical systems.


For some types of small-sized aircraft engines, the rotor speed of which makes 50,000-60,000 rpm, the necessity to develop a high-speed displacement fuel pump, which is driven directly from the engine rotor, became apparent.

The BN-1 single-pass vane pump with the following parameters was developed for the MD-120 engine:

  • rotation speed, rpm – 52,000
  • output flow, l/h – 1200
  • differential pressure, kgf/cm2 – 40.

The application of this pump made possible to implement the pump drive without an intermediate transmission and to start-up the engine without the priming pump.
